Cynthia David has combined a journalism degree from Ryerson University with a chef’s diploma from George Brown College to create a satisfying career as a food writer, editor and consultant. A former food editor for both the Toronto Sun and Style at Home magazine, Cynthia now writes for leading magazines and newspapers including HomeStyle, Canadian Living, Food & Drink, Toronto Life, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and National Post. The Toronto-based writer has lived in Beijing and traveled the world. She learned to make béarnaise sauce in Paris, pasta in Florence, Thai curry in Bangkok and pho in Hanoi. “Food is my life!” she says.

These former retailers (they ran Ann McColl's Kitchen Shop in London, Ontario for three decades) are now retired but still contributing to Home Style Magazine on a regular basis. She is a gifted writer. He is a talented photographer. Together they take readers on a fascinating tour of housewares retail shops around the world.

Jane Nahirny
For the past two decades, Jane Nahirny has built a successful career as a freelance journalist, feature writer and magazine editor. A regular contributor to Home Style for more than a 12 years, Jane now resides with her husband Mark and son Victor on B.C.’s Salt Spring Island where she focuses on western Canadian retailers.

Jennifer Cox
Jennifer has been covering the Quebec and eastern Ontario market for Home Style for two years. With a double major in journalism and sociology from Concordia University, she is in a unique position to cover the movers and shakers in the Canadian housewares industry. A former editor of Wall to Wall magazine, Jennifer now works full-time as a freelancer and will be getting married in the fall of 2009.

Christine Spence-Maharajh
As a part-time sales associate with The Compleat Cook, Calgary-based writer Christine Spence-Maharajh is in a unique position to report on the front lines of retailing. Passionate about cooking and kitchenware, Christine is also the author of “The Happy Slob’s Guide to Housecleaning”. She will be writing both feature articles and a regular column for Home Style this year.
